We previously wrote about the new Single Local Tax rule here and here

The newly passed Single Local Sales Tax rule goes into effect October 1, 2019, and the Texas Comptroller has published a resource page for businesses to determine whether they'll fall under the new rule. One of the big questions local governments have had since the passage of this rule has been how will these collections be reported to them each month.

According to the Revenue Accounting Division of the Comptroller's office, revenues distributed to local governments under this tax will be shown as a new line item under their Sales Tax Allocation Payment Notice, and on the Allocation Detail Report page. If you're already using ZacTax for sales tax analysis, you won't need to do anything. We'll start pulling this new information as soon as it becomes available.

We'll also update our open source Texas Comptroller PHP package to include this information when the time comes.
